Thuja Removal

Thuja rows planted 20–30 years ago have by now dried out and gone bare in many gardens, attacked by mites or fungal disease – and once a thuja has declined this far, it sadly cannot be saved. We take on the complete removal of old thuja rows: felling, root removal and green-waste disposal, all from one team.

The first step is to assess whether the hedge really is beyond saving – a thuja that has largely browned and is bare inside will not regrow, and any further care is money wasted. During removal we cut the thujas out at the base and section them, then lift the root systems by machine or by hand so a new hedge can go straight in their place. We haul away all the green waste and hand the area back clean and ready for planting. We work safely close to fences, buildings and utilities too. Most of our customers order a new hedge along with the removal – in that case we work at a better price as part of our hedge replacement package, and cherry laurel, Leyland cypress or another evergreen can go in where the old thujas stood, even on the same day.
