Hedge Care & Maintenance

A hedge stays dense, healthy and well-shaped only with regular care. We offer a complete hedge maintenance service for cherry laurel, Leyland cypress and other evergreen hedges: trimming, shaping, feeding, plant protection and the renovation of neglected hedges.

Hedge Care & Maintenance

Cherry laurel hedges are best trimmed 1–2 times a year – in late spring and late summer – to keep their solid, closed shape. Leyland cypress must always be trimmed within the green growth, as it will not re-sprout from old brown wood. Beyond trimming, a healthy hedge needs spring feeding, watering checks in dry spells and protection against pests and fungal diseases – typically shot-hole disease on cherry laurel, and shoot dieback and cypress aphid on Leyland. For neglected, bare hedges we carry out renovation pruning and an intensive recovery treatment. We remove all clippings and leave the work area clean.
