Leyland Cypress Planting

Leyland cypress (×Cuprocyparis leylandii) is Europe's fastest-growing evergreen hedge conifer: it can put on 80–100 cm a year, forming a tall, dense, year-round green wall within a few years. If you want full privacy fast, Leyland is the best choice – we handle the entire installation, from soil preparation through planting to aftercare advice.

Leyland cypress develops dense, fine-textured, dark green foliage, takes trimming well and tolerates windy spots. Thanks to its rapid growth it is ideal for tall privacy hedges – up to 3–5 metres – along street fronts and property boundaries. During installation we dig out the planting strip, improve the soil with a nutrient-rich planting mix, then set out the container-grown plants along a line, typically at 80–100 cm spacing. After thorough watering-in and mulching we can also install drip irrigation on request – the biggest help during the first two years of establishment. Good to know: Leyland needs 1–2 trims a year to keep its shape – we hand over a detailed care guide at completion. Our work and the plants are covered by a guarantee.
