Thuja Hedge Planting

Thuja is the classic hedge: slim, shape-holding, green all year round, and it delivers perfect screening even where space is tight. We create thuja hedges from planning to planting – most often with the conical, vivid green Emerald thuja (Thuja occidentalis 'Smaragd'), which forms a neat, even hedge without any pruning at all.

When installing a thuja hedge, precise setting-out and a good start matter most. During the on-site survey we assess the soil, the light conditions and the desired height, and recommend a variety and size accordingly. We plant along a line at even spacing, typically 60–80 cm apart, so the row closes up neatly and uniformly. The planting holes are filled with a nutrient-rich medium, the plants are watered in thoroughly, and on request we lay a drip irrigation line along the row – thuja rewards a steady water supply. We install thujas from 60 cm right up to 200 cm tall, so even instant screening is within reach. The plants we install are covered by our guarantee.
